On Student Legislative Day 2017 we had over 40 students and faculty members gathered to advocate for the professional of counseling in the state of Missouri. We had the opportunity to talk with about 20 representatives regarding House Bill 873, which, if passed, will allow Licensed Professional Counselors the opportunity to serve more people, especially in rural areas in which services are not readily available due to insurance restrictions and limited care providers. It was also a great time to meet fellow students and future colleagues from around the state while we united around the cause of our profession.
**This opportunity to advocate is not over. If you would still like to be involved in the process of advocating, especially for House Bill 873, then contact your representative, asking for his or her support. Every effort makes a difference!"
