CMU Position Descriptions Field Experience Coordinator, Clinical Counseling Center Director, and Assistant Professor Master of Science Clinical Counseling Program Columbia, Missouri POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Experience Coordinator is a full-time program faculty member and is identified as the practicum and internship coordinator for all four sites, having responsibility for the coordination of practicum and internship experiences and responding to inquiries regarding practicum and internship. In conjunction with the MSCC Field Experience Coordinator role, this faculty position is also responsible for the development and implementation of a clinical counseling center (CCC) at Moberly Area Community College-Columbia (MACC-C) and teaching counseling classes. Other major duties of the position include assisting the Program Coordinator – Columbia site and the MSCC Program Director with administrative duties related to advising, recruitment, course development, and accreditation. The MSCC Field Experience Coordinator is a full-time, twelve-month, assistant professor position with field experience coordination and clinical administration as primary responsibilities. The MSCC Field Experience Coordinator will work under the direction of the MSCC Program Director, the CMU Director of Graduate Studies and the Provost, and will work collaboratively with the MSCC Program Coordinator, Columbia Site. The opportunity for summer employment in teaching and administration is also available. Additionally, the Field Experience Coordinator may be required to direct the joint CMU/SFCC Clinical Counseling Center in Sedalia as well. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Field Experience Coordinator function: Program Development/Maintenance
Directing Clinical Counseling Center (CCC): Develop and direct the joint CMU/MACC CCC at the Columbia location, which will be open for a minimum of 15 hours a week. And additionally, there is a possibility of managing the joint CMU/SFCC CCC at the Sedalia location for up to 15 hours a week as well. Teaching: Teaching a minimum of two classes a year (one class a semester) with a possible increase in teaching load up to four courses in subsequent years. Assisting MSCC Program Coordinator, Columbia: Serve as alternate advisor and assist with student recruitment. Assisting MSCC Director/MSCC Program: Serve as a member of the admissions and remediation committee for Clinical Counseling; assist with CACREP self-study and continued qualification for CACREP accreditation; and assist with course development. And, Other Duties as Assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A Missouri LPC license is required for this position, or eligible. Successful hire will be asked to become Missouri licensed within four months of hire. Ph.D. in Counseling Education from a CACREP-accredited program is preferred. Consideration will be given to strong candidates who are ABD from a CACREP-accredited Counseling Education program. Applicants with doctorates in related areas who have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013 are also encouraged to apply. Experience in counseling and clinical supervision of counselors in training is also required. Teaching experience is preferred. Faculty will serve students both in the Columbia area and in the extended network which currently includes Columbia, Maryland Heights, Park Hills, and Sedalia; some travel to the network locations will be required. Main campus meeting attendance in Fayette will be required. Faculty members have responsibilities in program administration, program development, faculty recruitment/selection/maintenance/evaluation, student recruitment/selection/advisements/ evaluation, and teaching. Faculty are expected to participate in department, college, university governance activities, and other university events.
